Biography

Michael Gelinsky received his PhD in Chemistry from Freiburg University (Germany). In 1999 he moved to TU Dresden and worked for around 10 years at the department of Materials Science, heading his own group at the newly founded Max Bergmann Center of Biomaterials from 2002. In 2010 he was appointed Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and head of the Centre for Translational Bone, Joint and Soft Tissue Research (tu-dresden.de/med/tfo). Michael Gelinsky organised and chaired the annual meeting of the ESB in September 2019 in Dresden, Germany. In December 2020 he was appointed as Fellow Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE) by the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE)
